With election day less than a week away, here are some thoughts of importance not fully addressed nor previously discussed in my columns in deciding who gets your vote. Since the legacy media and its many organs will be chastising former President Trump for everything he has ever done, I will limit my comments to Ms. Harris.
Harris like Biden and many others speak often of corporations and the rich not paying their “fair share.” We will probably never agree on the fact that corporations are just conduits for collecting taxes. We can discuss what is considered a “fair share” for individuals. This is where the advocates for higher taxes do not address what they believe is a “fair share.” They simply believe “the rich” should pay more so it can run through the hands of the higher-tax advocates to be directed to their preferred projects.
Here are the facts and you can make your own decision. The IRS released their most current calculations which were for 2021 – four years after the Trump tax rate adjustments became law. The top 1% of earners paid 45.78% of the total taxes in 2021. That was up from 43.31% in 2020. Their share of total adjusted gross income was 26.3%. The highest 5% of earners paid 65.64% of total income taxes while earnings 41.99% of the adjusted gross income. The top 10% who had income of at least $169,800 paid 75.81% of the income taxes while having just 52.61% of adjusted gross income.
The bottom 50% of tax filers paid just 2.34% of income taxes. You can draw your own conclusion, but it certainly appears to me that not only are the highest earners paying their “fair share” already, but the lowest earners are barely paying income taxes. It is my opinion that Ms. Harris and the people who prattle about this are demagoguing this issue. When you have so many people who are basically exempt from taxes, they are encouraged to vote for candidates who tell them they are going to tax the other guy. That is not politics. That is incitement.
The most astonishing statement Ms. Harris has made is regarding the war in Israel. The Harris-Biden administration think they had the privilege to tell both Ukraine and Israel how to run the hot wars in which they are involved because they are supplying OUR money to them voted on by OUR Congress. The people doing this — Harris, Biden, Blinken, and Sullivan – collectively have zero military experience. They do have arrogance though.
Harris made the single most arrogant statement of them all. In regard to the decision for the Israelis to go into the Rafah area of Gaza, Ms. Harris stated “Any major military operation in Rafah would be a huge mistake. I have studied the maps – there’s nowhere for those folks to go.” She had studied the maps. Wow. Of course, she was dead wrong, and the Israelis relocated the Gazans. The Israelis cleared out hundreds of underground tunnels, many of which had been built by Hamas under hospitals, apartment buildings and UN facilities. Those tunnels were built largely with our money diverted from “humanitarian aid funds.” The Israelis killed thousands of Hamas terrorists, culminating with the biggest of all — head terrorist Sinwar – the man personally responsible for the October 7th deaths of 46 Americans with seven still being held hostage.
This woman should never be near the Situation Room again.
There was an “October surprise” event that might tip an election, but it was significantly suppressed. We were told by VP Harris that crime had gone down, and she cited figures provided by the FBI. However, she ignored the Bureau of Justice Statistics run by the Census Bureau that manages the National Crime Victimization Survey. Their figures, which are derived from an annual survey of 230,000 households, show a much higher rate of crime actually experienced than reported by the FBI.
The FBI reported in September 2023 that violent crime fell in 2022 by 2.1%. Just recently they quietly revised the figures to show that violent crime rose by 4.5% in 2022. A major change in the data. If it were not for an analysis of the FBI report by the people at Real Clear Politics, this change would not have been discovered. Many news services picked this up including CNN. I could not find anything written about this in the New York Times or WAPO.
First, Harris-Biden were telling people not to believe their “lyin’ eyes” about the level of crime they were experiencing. Second, the way the FBI collects crime data needs a major overhaul. Third, the FBI hid this change. If Mr. Trump gets elected next week, he must do major house cleaning at this agency. This is straightforward evidence that the FBI has become significantly politicized.
Similarly, Harris and her allies in the press have told people to not believe their “lyin’ eyes” about weakness in the economy. Article after article comes out stating the American economy is doing wonderfully so why don’t people understand that. It might be because inflation has drained their savings (fact) and robustly increased their credit card debt to record levels (fact).
I was sitting at one of my local lunch places next to a man and his 8–year-old son. They both got burgers. They were the same size, and I thought, is that kid going to eat that entire thing? Soon I looked over and the kid’s burger was nearly consumed. I commented to the dad that I was surprised. He said, “Yeah and because it was on the kids’ menu it cost $8 while mine cost $20. And in this economy, I can use any help I can get.”
What Harris does not seem to understand or want to admit is that millions of Americans are thinking the very same thing and are looking for a change.
Ms. Harris is selling herself as “the change agent.” Though when asked what she would do differently from the Biden administration if she is elected, she said “nothing comes to mind.” Then she said that she is obviously not Joe Biden or Donald Trump. She could not offer one thing she would do differently for our country when only 27.5% of people think we are going in the right direction.
In summary, she is lying about taxes, she is lying about crime, she is lying about the economy, and she is lying about being a change agent. And people call Trump a liar. She thinks she is General George Patton and can tell countries how to run their wars.
